Join us on a tour of the Jewish communities of Moscow and St Petersburg

Explore Russia in luxury on this JR tour. From our base in four-star hotels, visitors will be partaking in activities such as an evening canal cruise, trip to Catherine's Palace in Pushkin town and riding business class on the high-speed Sapsan train. Day 1: Thursday 6 August

Arrival at Pulkovo Airport, St Petersburg. Hotel check-in. Evening canal cruise followed by a welcome dinner with special guests from the Jewish Community.

Day 2: Friday 7 August

Day of sightseeing in St Petersburg, featuring visits to Grand Choral Synagogue, Peter and Paul Fortress, the remarkable Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood and a Jewish history and culture exhibition at the Russian Museum of Ethnography. Shabbat Friday night services in the Grand Choral Synagogue, followed by kosher dinner with special guests.

Day 3: Saturday 8 August

Morning of free time, then kosher Shabbat lunch at the synagogue. In the afternoon walk to Palace Square for a tour of the State Hermitage Museum.

Day 4: Sunday 9 August

Drive to Pushkin town to visit the Baroque Catherine Palace and Holocaust memorial. After lunch continue on to Peterhof's grand Fountain Park and more, before returning to the hotel.

Day 5: Monday 10 August

A bit of free time in the morning before we head to Saint Isaac's Cathedral and the YESOD Jewish Community centre, where we'll meet with community leaders. After lunch we'll take the high-speed Sapsan train to Moscow.

Day 6: Tuesday 11 August

Bus tour of Jewish Moscow, including visits to the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Centre, and the Jewish community in the Maryina Roshcha District. After a kosher lunch we'll visit the Moscow Choral Synagogue and Tretyakov Art Gallery.

Day 7: Wednesday 12 August

Back on the bus to see the breathtaking landscapes of Moscow (with plenty of photo stops). En route we'll see the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts and Red Square, as well as the Kremlin and its Armoury Chamber (where the crown jewels are kept). More special guests will appear at the farewell dinner at a kosher restaurant.

Day 8: Thursday 13 August

Departure transfer to airport.


The cost of this trip, excluding the flight, is £2,595 per person sharing a double or twin room. The single supplement is £695. This cost* includes all taxes and accommodation (plus porterage), all tours and transfers (including business class high-speed train tickets), professional English-speaking guides, entrance fees to attractions, plus half-board meals and water on the bus (food will be kosher when available or vegetarian with permissible fish options). 

The cost does not include: Flights to and from Russia, visa, insurance, meals not mentioned in full itinerary, drinks at meals, personal expenses and gratuities.
