On a July Sunday afternoon in a (very) sunny central London garden, we celebrated 20 years of Jewish Renaissance magazine. We marked the big occasion with big guests, such as actor Dame Maureen Lipman, who appeared in conversation with her daughter, the playwright Amy Rosenthal, about their experiences both in the spotlight and behind the scenes. We also welcomed former Children's Laureate and We're Going on a Bear Hunt author Michael Rosen, who gave a humorous family friendly reading; Sophie Herxheimer illustrated stories from our readers beneath a mulberry tree; London collective 3yin played Sepharadi and Judeo-Arabic music; Ilana Banana kept the little ’uns entertained; comedian and musical storyteller Daniel Cainer performed an original song penned specially for our 20th birthday; and we enjoyed a delicious cream tea with bubbly.
